On July 17, 2014 the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union delivered his opinion on ISCO's patent case C 364/13, supporting ISCO's position that our stem cells are patentable and therefore should not be included the EU directive that outlaws patenting embryonic stem cells or any cells derived from embryonic stem cells.
We now know that the decision of the full court will be posted on December 18, 2014.
A positive decision from the whole court would put ISCO in a very strong partnering position in the EU, as we would have the only patentable naturally pluripotent stem cells under European law.
